PharmAccess International and National Health Insurance Fund Tanzania are jointly implementing a micro health insurance scheme: Improved Community Health Fund (iCHF). iCHF facilitates Tanzanians in access quality healthcare at an affordable rate. The program is currently being implemented in Northern Tanzania in the regions of Kilimanjaro and Manyara.
Since its establishment in 2011, the billing procedures and medical data are collected through paperwork which makes healthcare delivery process unfriendly, tedious and time consuming to health providers. In curbing the situation, PharmAccess and CarePay have introduced the digital platform that connects patients, health providers, and payers thus making healthcare more inclusive. Users will access health services using their mobile wallet at the designated health facilities.
